Tour at the EDCO Recycling Facilities (MRF)

Where do our recyclables go?

Join us for a tour at this amazing facility which processes over 1.5 million pounds of material daily. EDCO operates 2 facilities on this site.
  • EDCO Recycling Facility is a single stream recycling processing facility (approx. 700,000 pounds daily)
  • SANCO Resource and Recovery Facility processes construction and demolition recycling from the San Diego region (approx. 800,000 to 1 million pounds daily)
Please join us and learn where and how our recyclables are sorted, what diversion outlets are available for the recovered material, and the reuses of the diverted material. Moreover, see how a combination of men, women, and machines makes it so efficient.
Dress code : long sleeves, long pants and closed shoes (helmets and safety jackets will be provided)

Parking information : All attending will enter through gate #4 and park in the back of the parking lot. Look for an SDGBC volunteer or EDCO representative to direct parking.

Please note that lunch will be served at 11:45, and the presentation will begin at noon.

This session will be eligible for one hour of  "General" GBCI credential maintenance, to be reported under "Education" activity type.

This session is supported by the Chapter Education Committee in partnership with Jimbo's ...Naturally and The Design Institute of San Diego - THANK YOU for the support!
